When it’s hot outside, I don’t always want to wear shorts or style a skirt. Which is why you’ll see me rocking pants year-round (even in the summer). But not just any pants. When I wear pants in warmer weather they have to be the following:
- comfortable
- lightweight
- petite friendly
To say I have a lot of pants would be an understatement. Unlike some fashion influencers, I don’t buy any clothes just to style it and then return it. If I don’t like something then I’m not going to share it. If I do like something then I usually am going to buy it in a bunch more colors😂 (Tip: pair with my favorite summer cardigan for cooler nights or air conditioned places)

What Makes Summer Pants “Petite Friendly”?
I stand at 5′ even so pants can be tricky. For me to keep a pair and style it in summer, they have to match certain criteria. First, they have to be the right length. Since summer pants are not a structured material like denim, I can’t cut them like I usually do my jeans. If they’re too long or too short out of the bag, they’re going back.
Next, they have to have the right waistband to keep me proportional. Sometimes high waisted pants are too high on me making my torso non-existent and sometimes mid rise pants are too low making my legs look even shorter.
Lastly, they have to wash well. If they shrink or get too wrinkly in the wash then they’re not going to fit right the next time I wear them. All the pants in this blog post are petite approved by me which means they are also approved for anyone that doesn’t usually order “tall.”
